"I started coming here for the workout classes and some cardio classes and just being around all the fighters - I kind of wanted to get into it," says Boltz, who is 25 and lives in Duluth
"I'm in the best shape of my life and even growing up playing baseball, football and hockey, I have never been in this shape," says Nystrom, who is 25 and is from Superior.
"It is a wonderful opportunity and the one thing that boxing has shown me is that you get out what you put in," says Carter, who is 33 and from Duluth.
Ex-Proctor/Hermantown Mirage goalie Amy Lemenager is also part of Lorenzi's Boxing and also qualified for the Upper Midwest Golden Gloves, which begin Saturday and wrap up Sunday.
Three other boxers from the Duluth area will also compete at the Upper Midwest Golden Gloves. They are Trent Hendrickson from Twin Ports Boxing and both Evan Wrazidlo and Daniel Huffman from the Jungle Boy Boxing Gym.
