Rugby League legend Jamie Peacock has challenged Rio Ferdinand to a charity boxing match in Leeds next spring.
Ferdinand announced his intentions to step into the professional boxing ring under the tutorage of former world champion Richie Woodhall earlier this month.
However, the 38-year old will first need to obtain a license from the British Boxing Board of Control in order to participate in an official bout.
The ex-Manchester United and England defender posted videos online over the summer of his boxing training which has attracted the attention of former Leeds Rhinos star Jamie Peacock.

Peacock, who himself has been undergoing his own training inside the squared-circle, took to social media to openly challenge Ferdinand to meet in a charity match next spring.
The Rugby League great targeted Leeds' First Direct Arena as the possible venue, which he hopes could raise more than £250,000 for charity.
